Will Marc Bernard Tools work with my SAP system?

In general, Marc Bernard Tools runs on SAP Basis 7.31 or higher. Individual tools might have other requirements. Please check the specs on the download page of the tools you are interested in. If you have Marc Bernard Tools already installed in your SAP system, then you can check in Marc Bernard Tools which other individual tools are compatible with your system.

Does Marc Bernard Tools work if my SAP system is not connected to the Internet?

Yes. Marc Bernard Tools does not require an Internet connection and works perfectly well in offline environments, too. Automatic version check as well as installation and update of new versions, will not be available and simply replaced by downloading ZIP files from GitHub or our website and uploading them to your SAP system using Marc Bernard Tools.

What happens if I do not renew my access pass?

Access passes are subscription-based and will automatically renew every year. If you decide to cancel, you may still use the tools but you will not receive updates or priority support once the access pass expires.

What are the license keys used for?

Each access pass comes with a license key. The license key connects your SAP system to our website, allowing you to check for and automatically install updates.

Do license keys restrict tool functionality?

No. Your tools will work as expected whether you have your license keys activated or not. You are encouraged to test tools without activating license keys.

How many times can I activate my license key?

The type of access pass determines your license key activation limit. With a Starter Pass, you can activate your license on a single development system. A Professional Pass allows activation on two development systems. A Business Pass allows activation on an unlimited number of systems. You may deactivate a license key and move it to another system at any time.

Do I need a license for my test and production systems?

No. Marc Bernard Tools can be transported to test, quality, and production systems using standard SAP tools (Change and Transport System) and do not require license key activation for these systems.


How do I install Marc Bernard Tools?

You install Marc Bernard Tools to your sandbox or development system using abapGit. After the initial install with abapGit, further tools are installed using the MBT Package Manager (transaction /n/mbtools/mbt). For more details, see the Installation Guide.

Do I have to install all the tools?

No. You can install each of the Marc Bernard Tools individually. Note that extensions and some tools have dependencies on others. Not to worry, the MBT Installer will take care of those.


Can I purchase support for individual tools?

No. Your access pass will cover support for all Marc Bernard Tools.

Do I have to pay for support?

No. Marc Bernard Tools is open source and is supported by the community. You may open an issue on GitHub at any time. To receive priority support, however, requires a valid Business Pass

What is the difference between community and priority support?
